Workplace Immigration Enforcement in Freefall
Washington, DC – House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Lamar Smith today released data provided by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that shows dramatic drops in worksite immigration enforcement. Committee Republicans will further examine the data and the impact of illegal immigration on American jobs at a forum tomorrow afternoon entitled, American Jobs in Peril: The Impact of Uncontrolled Immigration.

Republicans Send Letter to President Obama, Demand Answers on Gitmo Terrorists
Washington, D.C. – Republican Ranking Members today demanded answers to questions posed over the past 10 months about the Administration’s ill-advised decision to close Guantanamo Bay. In a letter to President Obama, the Ranking Members outlined the national security concerns posed by the decision and insisted that the Administration provide responses to the American people before any terrorists are imported to the U.S. for detention or prosecution.
