Last week, the House passed a bill to update the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)—a law that governs surveillance of foreign terrorists and spies. The FISA Amendments Act of 2008 passed with strong bipartisan support by a vote of 293-129, with 188 Republicans and 105 Democrats voting yes. The Senate is expected to take up the House bill this week. |
